Initial Concepts (planning, ideas)

Group discussion on our three initial ideas

Our group was assembled of myself, Lauren, Aiden and Louis/ After our group was assembled; we had to come up with three initial ideas for a film and we had to think of various aspects for the following: specific genre, main plot, what we want to happen, characters, appearances, music, sound, props, clothing, weapon connotations, blood being conveyed to the audience, location, target audience and more.

As a group, we had a discussion and came up with three different concepts: a group of friends travel together out of town on a trip and once they return there is no communication between specific groups of people which the teenagers once knew - slowly realises that there is a zombie apocalypse which has occurred. We thought about the global news hinting out signs of chaos and catastrophe; zombies.

We also had an idea of a party which leads to people drinking; becoming drunk. Then the next morning, they are alone - a desolation concept, isolation. Try to remember the night before; what happened. Flashbacks unveil the truth.

For our last group idea, an anonymous serial killer; murdering teenagers and their relatives (loved ones, close characters). Disarray is caused, disruption, police discombobulated; cannot figure out prime suspects (the serial killer). Eventually, the truth is unraveled and the serial killer unveils his methods/actions and why he chose to murder specific groups of people.

As a group, we discussed and confirmed that we would all prefer to pick the genre horror and to make a title sequence for a zombie apocalypse. The zombie apocalypse concept intrigued and satisfied us the most in comparison to the other ideas which we came up with as a group.
