Planning for the title sequence

For our previous lesson myself and my group planned for the title sequence, we had a discussion and thought about the possible conventions and what particular features should be included into our sequence: as a group we decided on the genre type which we desired to evolve our title sequence around (horror); together, we assembled two plots and contemplated on which of the two we will most likely use for our title sequence (we drew out a spider diagram which consisted of the features which will be added into the sequence. for example, costumes, fake blood, the locations of where we will shoot our film, what the plots would consist of - what will happen, how things are displayed, use of editing, use of colour and more).

We previously performed a presentation in front of the class demonstrating our film pitch, budget, actors, director and other features which will be used for our title sequence. We also had decide on which actors we would preferably like to star in our sequence; we chose between a series of young actors which have low reputation with the film industry. therefore, the audience would not particularly know who they are - we would not have brilliant actors which have an exalted reputation with the audience. we decided on the specific director which would direct our film and that was Quentin Tarantino - he has not experimented with the horror genre or exemplified his work with so much gore and bloodshed - we chose Tarantino mainly for experimentation with the genre horror type.

Myself and my group had a discussion about the two particular plots for our title sequence - the first concept developed itself around the desolation of humanity. Where a teenage party collapsed and told the story of a boy who woke up into a world of emptiness; he was isolated and the story would be unravelled and unveiled through a series of flashbacks. His memory was the only thing he could rely on. The struggle of exploring his friends house and slowly remembering the past. The flashbacks which the character experiences are events of what happened during the night before.

The second concept of which we discussed expanded around an outbreak of a zombie apocalypse which occurred - the lead male protagonist meets with his dearest friends and struggles to survive and search for a haven. the lead protagonist however, his solutions begin diminishing and falls into madness as he loses his mind and starts accusing his friends for leading the group to unexpected danger. the sequence will contain dark humour which is displayed in a variety of ways to bring diversity to our sequence. We were influenced/inspired by films like 'Zombieland', 'Dawn of the Dead' these two films in particular  stimulate our film in a way of displaying it.
